Assistant Professor Aleksandr Rodin was born in Ukraine and moved to the United States at the age of 14. He attended the University of Southern California between 2003 and 2007, graduating with a BS in Physics. Following this, he obtained his PhD in Physics in 2012 from the University of California, San Diego. This led him to a two-year postdoctoral position with Boston University. He moved to Singapore in 2014 where he joined the Graphene Research Centre. There, he worked both on characterising new two-dimensional materials, as well as looking for their potential applications. In 2018, he joined Yale-NUS as a member of the Division of Science.
