Assistive Technologies for the Deaf in Jordan
The Anthropology Department is excited to host Timothy Loh, NUS Anthropology Fellow 20/21, for a workshop on his dissertation entitled: “Assistive Technologies for the Deaf in Jordan: Language Religion and The Question of Disability.” His dissertation project examines deaf Jordanian’s engagements with the new assistive technologies that have emerged in the last two decades, which include medical-rehabilitative devices like cochlear implants) and non-medical technologies, like sign language-centred mobile applications.
