The pandemic has taken a massive toll on mental health globally as critical health services have been disrupted and demands for mental health resources and treatment have soared. Illness, death, economic disruption, social isolation and repeated lockdowns have had deep impact on the mental well-being of populations around the world and the effects are likely to linger long after the spread of COVID-19 is controlled. In this panel discussion, experts and policymakers will discuss the mental health challenges countries will face as they continue to navigate the pandemic and consider how programmes can be structured to provide mental health support.
