An evening together with artists Andrew Yang and Christa Donner, the inaugural Yale-NUS College Artists-in-Residence.

As part of their residency, Yang and Donner are teaching the module Culturing Nature: Ecological Art and the Garden, which encourages others to use multi-sensory and multi-media approaches, experiments with drawing, photography, and multimedia projects as ways to observe, represent, and imagine the ways humans relate to the rest of life in an age of environmental urgency.

Working both independently and collaboratively, Yang and Donner’s artworks focus on the social, physical and psychological relationship with the natural world. At the talk, Yang and Donner presented their past and current art practices, weaving the complex human and ecological issues of today, alongside their preliminary thoughts on their residency in Singapore.

The Artist-in-Residence Programme is supported by the Tan Chin Tuan Chinese Culture & Civilisation Programme.
