George Yeo

Senior Adviser, Kuok Group and Kerry Logistics Network

George Yeo served 23 years in the Singapore government from 1988 to 2011, as Minister for Information and the Arts, Health, Trade & Industry, and Foreign Affairs. Prior to that, he was Brigadier General as Director of Joint Operations and Planning in the Ministry of Defence.

Mr Yeo has a BA in Engineering (Double First) from Cambridge University and an MBA (Baker Scholar) from Harvard University.

Mr Yeo is a member of the Board of Trustees of Berggruen Institute on Governance, International Advisory Panel of Peking University, Senior Advisory Council of Beijing Forum, International Advisory Board of IESE Business School, International Advisory Council of China’s Eco Forum Global Guiyang, International Advisory Board of Japan’s National Graduate School for International Policy Studies (GRIPS), International Advisory Committee of Mitsubishi Corporation and the MUFG Global Advisory Board. He is an independent Board member of AIA, Pinduoduo, an e-commerce company newly listed on NASDAQ and New Yangon Development Corporation. He is also a senior advisor to Brunswick for its geopolitical initiative. Mr Yeo served as a Member of the Pontifical Commission for Reference on the Economic-Administrative Structure of the Holy See from year 2013-2014. From February 2014, he became a Member of the Vatican Council for the Economy.

 

Chin-Hao Huang

Assistant Professor of Social Sciences (Political Science) at Yale-NUS College

Chin-Hao Huang specialises in international politics, with a focus on China’s foreign policy, Southeast Asian politics, and United States (US)-China relations. He is the recipient of the Lee Kong Chian National University of Singapore-Stanford University Distinguished Fellow on Contemporary Southeast Asia (2018-2019) and the American Political Science Association’s Foreign Policy Section Best Paper Award (2014).

Chin-Hao Huang is the author or co-author of three books, and has research articles published or forthcoming in International Organization, The China Quarterly, The China Journal, Contemporary Southeast Asia, and International Peacekeeping, and in edited volumes through Oxford University Press and Routledge, among others. He has testified on China’s foreign affairs before the US-China Economic and Security Review Commission, US Congress. He has also served as a consultant for US and European foundations, governments, and companies on their strategies and policies in Asia. Until 2009, he was a researcher at the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, and prior to that worked with the Freeman Chair in China Studies at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, DC. His Doctor of Philosophy and Bachelor of Science are respectively from the University of Southern California and Georgetown University.
