Yale-NUS graduate awarded prestigious Rhodes Scholarship, The Straits Times, 21 November 2017

The Straits Times reported that Nicholas Carverhill (Class of 2017) has become the first Yale-NUS College student to be awarded the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship to further his postgraduate studies at Oxford University. The 22-year-old from Saskatoon, Canada studied urban studies and global affairs at Yale-NUS, and intends to pursue a master of philosophy degree in development studies at Oxford, in line with his desire to work with vulnerable communities on issues related to urban politics. The article also carried comments by Dean of International & Professional Experience Trisha Craig, who noted that Mr Carverhill’s work crosses disciplinary boundaries and his commitment to the most marginalised populations spans borders.
