US schools miss Chinese philosophy, China Daily, 2 August 2017

The US edition of the China Daily interviewed experts on their views on the relevance of studying Chinese philosophy in US schools. The article quoted Yale-NUS Professor of Humanities (Philosophy) Bryan Van Norden who noted that China is becoming an increasingly important world power, and traditional Chinese thoughts have continuing relevance to Chinese culture. He added that Chinese philosophy is rich in persuasive argumentation and careful analysis, hence enabling the US to learn about ways to cultivate virtues, new ways to think about political organisations and also about cooperative spirit.
