Riding the wave of climate issues, The Straits Times, 19 March 2019

The Straits Times carried an article on art installations that address environmental issues. The article quoted Assistant Professor of Social Sciences (Environmental Studies) Matthew Schneider-Mayerson, who encouraged cultural influencers like authors and artists to engage environmental issues in their work, bringing these issues to audiences who might not consciously choose to engage with them. He noted that fiction themed around climate change should aim to depict ways that people can respond “in an appropriately determined and resilient way to the problems we face today”.
