NUS starts new endowed fund in honour of former president Tan Chorh Chuan, The Straits Times, 18 October 2018

The Straits Times reported that the National University of Singapore (NUS) had started a new endowed fund in honour of former NUS president Professor Tan Chorh Chuan. During his tenure as the university’s president, one of the key initiatives he spearheaded was the setting up of Yale-NUS College, Singapore’s first liberal arts college. Over $1.1 million has been raised so far for the fund, which will provide students with bursaries, scholarships and study awards. The fund will disburse awards from the next academic year starting in August 2019, and is expected to support up to 20 students each year.
