Is your child a bully? How parents can spot the signs and what they should do, CNA, 27 March 2020

CNA Lifestyle carried an article about the causes, signs to look out for and what parents can do about bullying. Among the experts interviewed, Yale-NUS Assistant Professor of Social Sciences (Psychology) Cheung Hoi Shan noted that children who bully others might use it as a way to establish dominance and status within a peer group. While a secure parent-child relationship is important, Asst Prof Cheung noted that it was common for parents not to know if their child had been bullying others in school. This finding was the result of a study done on bullying by Asst Prof Cheung and her research laboratory, which involved parents and children between the ages of 10 and 12.
