Immersion in the arts ignited her passion, The Straits Times, 25 February 2014

The Straits Times featured Mariel Chee, a student in Yale-NUS College’s inaugural batch. The article noted that Mariel joined the School of the Arts (Sota) when it was first launched as she wanted to be part of something new. After graduating, that same pioneering spirit saw her join the debut batch of students at Singapore’s first liberal arts institution, Yale-NUS College. She noted that having an arts education helped her to take criticism better, and she learnt to be resilient and reflect a lot more. Having already organised art camps for children with several former classmates, she hopes to become a creative entrepreneur in the arts sector.
