Gen Y Speaks: Why I went from a meat-lover to a vegan, TODAY Online, 27 January 2019

TODAY carried a commentary by alumnus Peter Lewis (Class of 2018) who now works in Business Development and Partnerships at Karana, a Singaporean plant-based food startup. In the article, Mr Lewis shared his journey from an avid meat-lover to flexitarianism, vegetarianism and eventually veganism. He wrote that although he majored in Environmental Studies at Yale-NUS College, the impact of animal agriculture wasn’t a central topic in most of his classes. However, one assigned reading during his second year explained how meat production and fishing damaged the environment, and woke him up to the urgency of this issue.
