The Star Online, an English-language newspaper based in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, queried a number of Malaysian students at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP) in the National University of Singapore (NUS) on what it would have taken to convince them to have studied in Malaysia instead of studying abroad. Tinesh Indrarajah (Class of 2018), then an undergraduate student of History at Yale-NUS College, opined that having a school that emphasises the need for a broad-based education allows students to have a broader perspective across the various disciplines.
