Drama set in cake – Malaysian author Yeoh Jo-Ann comes up with a winning recipe of a book, New Straits Times, 28 July 2019

New Straits Times carried an article about Yeoh Jo-Ann’s new book, Impractical Uses of Cake, which won a Singapore literary prize – the Epigram Books Fiction prize – last year. Director of the Division of Humanities at Yale-NUS College, Professor Rajeev Patke, was noted as one of the judges for the prize. He commented that the book “reveals a whole side of Singapore that many people in Singapore may not be aware of, with a dry sense of humour and a deep understanding of human difficulties and the problems faced by Singapore as an urban centre”.
