‘Cosmolanders’ and Singapore’s dual personality, The Straits Times, 8 March 2019

The Straits Times carried an edited excerpt of the speech that Yale-NUS College President and Professor of Humanities (History) Tan Tai Yong gave at the IPS-Nathan Lecture Series. At the lecture, President Tan discussed Singapore’s dual identity, a tension between an inwardly-focussed nation-state and an outwardly-facing global cosmopolis.
