BRICS declaration: What China’s stance on terrorism reflects, Business Standard, 11 September 2017

Yale-NUS Assistant Professor of Political Science Rohan Mukherjee, wrote a commentary on the recently held 2017 (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) BRICS Summit in Xiamen, China. He discussed the 43-page declaration issued by the BRICS countries which included concern about continued terrorist attacks in Afghanistan. The commentary suggested that the BRICS Declaration served both as notice to Pakistan and encouragement to India with regard to the future of South Asia—especially Afghanistan—in the context of the Belt and Road Initiative.
