Brewing ideas over tea at Yale-NUS College, The Straits Times, 2 May 2014

During the College’s inaugural year, The Straits Times carried an article about the Rector’s Tea sessions, where students had the opportunity to meet all sorts of people, from journalists and authors to YouTube stars. Some of the guests included Singaporean opposition party figure Nicole Seah, socio-political blogger Alex Au, YouTube music stars Sam Tsui and Kurt Hugo Schneider, and Judy and Dennis Shepard, who set up the Matthew Shepard Foundation to champion tolerance and diversity after they lost their son to a hate crime 16 years previously. The article also mentioned that six public lectures of the President’s Speaker Series have been held since 2013.
