5 August 2013: Asia invests in liberal arts

President Pericles Lewis shares his thoughts on the rise of liberal arts in Asia and how Asian leaders acknowledge that a nation’s strength comes from the type of education it offers. President Lewis notes that Asian schools are recognizing the importance of a liberal arts education and the effectiveness of active in-class learning. As the Founding President of Yale-NUS College, he is confident that Yale-NUS, a vital new institution with an innovative curriculum for the 21st century in Singapore, will change the educational landscape and reinvigorate the future of liberal arts in Asia and the world.
