Aiming for AI, machine learning jobs after school? Don’t just focus on tech, grads say, Channel NewsAsia, 14 December 2018

In an article on the government’s focus on AI and machine learning, Channel NewsAsia interviewed alumnus Mr Sean Saito (Class of 2017) on his experience as a fresh graduate at software company SAP and how his liberal arts education at Yale-NUS has benefitted him in his career. The article noted that Mr Saito founded a coding academy Code Gakko for students while finishing his degree, and holds the distinction of being the first Bachelor’s degree hire at SAP for the position of a machine learning developer. Asked what helped him hit the ground running after graduating, Mr Saito said that the liberal arts foundation at Yale-NUS gave him a different perspective of programming and artificial intelligence (AI).
