The Business Times carried a feature on how the COVID-19 pandemic has improved the environment and put the natural world in a better state. It noted the importance of maintaining sustainability practices to bring about positive changes in the environment. One such practice could be a simple act of bringing your own containers and having your own utensils for takeaway food. To encourage this, Yale-NUS student Coco Oan (Class of 2022) who founded Project bECOme, an environmental project that aims to reduce single-use waste, is running a campaign called #skipfnssg where businesses provide fork and spoons (fns) to customers only upon request rather than by default, and hopes that the public would see such behaviours as important changes even without COVID-19.
