Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be working in the research group of Ng Hui Khoon, performing theoretical studies of quantum error correction and fault tolerance, with a particular focus on applications in realistic quantum computing systems. This can include considerations for noise models relevant for current systems in the race for quantum computers, like non-Markovian features in the associated noise.
The candidate may also be asked to work with undergraduate students and/or PhD students from Ng’s group, to provide an additional source of help for students.
The candidate should have a strong background in theoretical physics, possess numerical skills, and have a strong interest in understanding experimental work relevant to quantum computation. PhD work in quantum computing or quantum information related research is expected. Past experience with quantum error correction and fault tolerance will be a strong plus point.
