Research Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities

The goal of this project is to investigate and develop computer algorithms that can automatically detect/localise vehicles and humans as well as to recognise their colours from videos, which are degraded by nighttime, low-light, and rain conditions. The duty of the research engineering is to help the team to accomplish the goal by completing the milestones through his/her research. Concretely, the milestones include setting-up cameras, data collection, algorithm development, implementation/coding, experimenting/analysing the developed algorithms, and writing reports. While publishing papers in top international conferences/journals is not compulsory, it is strongly encouraged. The research engineer also has responsibilities to work together with the principal investigator as well as with the lab members.


  1. Masters or bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering
  2. Having strong knowledge and experiences in computer vision, deep learning and machine learning
  3. Having experiences with deep learning frameworks, such as pytorch or tensorflow
  4. Having strong knowledge in mathematics, particularly linear algebra, calculus, probability and statistics.
  5. Good verbal communication and writing skills in English
  6. Strong academic records
