Christopher Bridges is the Dean of Students at Yale-NUS College. In his role, Dr Bridges leads the Office of the Dean of Students, which oversees student affairs, housing, athletics, counselling, wellness and dining.
Previously, Dr Bridges served as the Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management at Mansfield University of Pennsylvania, a public liberal arts university. During his time there, Dr Bridges led the team that pushed retention rates to a record high for the university. He has played an active role in student affairs, campus strategic planning, accreditation and the operations of multiple campuses. With over a decade of experience within higher education centred on student affairs, Dr Bridges brings both passion and experience to his role as the Dean of Students.
Dr Bridges holds a Bachelor in Philosophy, Interdisciplinary Studies (Sociology and Theatre), a Master of Science in College Student Personnel from Miami University, and a PhD from Ohio University in Higher Education Leadership and Administration.
His research has focused on the roles of allies in social justice work, an approach he is currently expanding to include ally experiences in different positions of power. Dr Bridges is also particularly interested in the intersection of liberal arts education and the core work of student affairs.
Dr Bridges is an avid reader and enjoys new adventures. He and his partner Corinne have four children.
