Dr Janelle Rahyns has passionately cultivated a rich experience and depth of understanding in study abroad education. Dr Rahyns holds a PhD in Social Science & Comparative Education with a concentration in International & Comparative Education from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), an MEd in Student Personnel in Higher Education, and a BA in Political Science from the University of Florida. Dr Rahyns research interests include cross-cultural communication, study abroad education, social psychology, and identity research.
Dr Rahyns is the Assistant Dean of Cendana Residential College. She serves as an academic advisor to 300 undergraduate residents, helps design and lead orientation and first-year transition programming, and facilitates the development of an intellectually vibrant, socially supportive, and high functioning college community. She works with the Dean of Students office and Academic Affairs division to elevate intercultural exchange as a priority across the institution. She is excited to cultivate a culture of learning on the Yale-NUS campus and the greater Singaporean community.
